Eight Random Things

Last month I was tagged by Jeanne for the Eight Random Things meme.
Hoping that late is indeed better than never, here are the rules …
1. Each blogger must post these rules first.
2. Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about him/herself.
3. Bloggers who are tagged must write a post on their own blog about their eight things and must also include these rules in that post.
4. Tagged bloggers need to select eight other bloggers, whom they tag to keep the meme going, and they must list the names of the chosen bloggers at the end of their blog posts.
5. They then must leave each blogger a comment telling them that they’ve been tagged and that they should read the tagger’s blog to learn more about the meme.
Here are 8 random things about Brad …
1. In high school I was a fairly decent shot-putter. My best throw was somewhere over 54 feet.
2. I’ve written around 200 book reviews on Amazon and am currently a Top 1000 Reviewer.
3. My brother, nephew and I were all born on the 6th of different months. My father and one of my daughters share the same birth date.
4. My last car turned 44,444 miles on my 44th birthday. Another one of my cars turned 77,777 miles on July 7. (How’s that for random … or not?)
5. I write business cartoons from time to time, which are drawn by the talented illustrator and all-around good guy Mark Hill.
6. Last year I had a cartoon published in the Summer 2006 edition of “The Optimist” magazine.
7. This year I turned 50. (This link goes to my humor blog, Scrambled Toast.)
8. I spent ten days in the Soviet Union in the late 1970’s. In Moscow we befriended a dissident who spent an afternoon showing us parts of the city few foreigners got to see. A few years later I backpacked around Europe for three months with a close friend and have made a couple trips to Italy and France since then. Rome is my favorite city.
OK. Here are eight bloggers I’d love to hear from …
1. George at Persona Non Gravy.
2. Mark at Dancing Moose.
3. Ken at Manage Your Writing.
4. Angie at Angie’s Humor Blog.
5. Liz, the LearningNerd.
6. Dr. Toboggans at The Ominous Comma.
7. Julia at Web Based PR.
8. Bob at Marin Real Estate Insider.
Eights are wild!
Thanks for including me, Jeanne–
Brad

Brad,
What a wonderful post! So glad I tagged you for this meme, since you have so many absolutely fascinating facts to share! This post was well worth waiting for! Thanks so much for participating!
Re: #1 & 2: That’s a lot of feet and a lot of reviews! Great job on both!
Re: #3 & 4: That’s a lot of coincidences! Hmmm…I wonder…
Re: #5 & 6: Didn’t know you wrote business cartoons! Will definitely have to check them out! (That’s so creative!)
Re: #7: Welcome to Middle Age (not to be confused with the Middle Ages) LOL!
Re: #8: Didn’t know you were a world traveler. How exciting! I, personally, am half Russian and half Italian–so I’ve got two of the countries you visited covered! (Thankfully, my Russian grandparents managed to emigrate before the Bolshevik Revolution.)
And now…to first check out your cartoons and then visit the bloggers you’ve tagged, most of whom I’ve never heard of…
Take care!
Jeanne
Hi Jeanne, re: #8, I have grandparents on both sides that came from Russia and Lithuania, also before the Bolshevik Revolution. You can find my cartoons at http://www.cafepress.com/moldunlimited.
Thanks, Brad! I’ll check them out!
