Proud to be an SOB

Superblogger Liz Strauss recognized 7 SOB’s today, including me. If you are wondering why that makes me proud, it’s because SOB stands for Successful and Outstanding Blogger.

Liz is an extraordinarily generous blogger whose SOB program has helped me find and join conversations with a number of wonderful bloggers. It’s a real honor for me to be part of this group.

The other SOBs this week are all new to me, but I’m already intrigued with their blogs. Here they are …

Crazy Aunt Purl
Egg Marketing Blog
How to be an Original
Pingable (Love the logo!)
Pro Blog Design (Another great logo.)
Simplerich

I like the names of all these blogs. Don’t they arouse your curiosity? I would love to know how these bloggers came up with their blog name.

  1. Hi Brad…how did I come up with the name for pingable? I like able’s on the end of names…like mashable for example, and the term ping is tied into the whole computer and blogging term, i.e. pinging another blog or computer… sounds cool I think? .com and .net were taken so I went for .org. I like your blog, added your rss and I will follow with interest. Cheers.

  2. Hi Simon, thanks for visiting Word Sell! Pingable not only sounds cool, it’s quite descriptive, I think, of your blog’s theme. That’s a winning combination: cool and relevant. (I always thought you had to be a not-for-profit to use an .org domain–?) I’ve been exploring Pingable and just subscribed. Great content!

  3. Congratulations, Brad!

It couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy! (Though, normally one wouldn’t tend to equate the initials SOB with nice guys, in this case it’s A-OK!)

You are definitely deserving of the title “Successful and Outstanding Blogger”!

    Blog on–proudly!

  4. Congratulations on winning the SOB! :D (And I’m glad you like the logo. :) )

  5. Congratulations on the well-deserved recognition.

  6. Congratulations Brad, and well deserved. It is a badge to be worn with pride (though dare I say it, not as snazzy as the word nerd badge? shh, don’t tell Liz!)

  7. Thanks to everybody for your well wishes!

  8. Congratulations on being chosen yourself!

Simplerich is just me. I used to have a hat that said simple on it. My name is rich. I just happen to be so very creative I put the two together and came up with…. tadaaaa simplerich.
Simple’s my thing. Most things I think are simple, or should be so it works well for me.

  9. Rich, like most great ideas, yours is simple! Thanks for sharing.
