Relationships are forever.

In the long run, people do business with people they know, like, and trust. Strong relationships transform a good business into a great one.

A blogger for almost a year now, I have gotten a taste of the relationship power of blogging. I’ve discovered amazing people and ideas that have helped me shape my business. On various occasions, I’ve learned more from a blogger’s one paragraph e-mail than I would have gotten out of an entire textbook. I’ve even been able to help other bloggers clarify their thinking and take an important next step. More than a few times, one of my old and nearly forgotten blog posts lead to an exciting new business opportunity.

But I’m just scratching the surface. That’s why I’m so interested in experiencing SOBCon07. Liz Strauss–and I’m sure the other event organizers as well–understands how blogs build relationships that build successful businesses. I want to learn more, because I’m convinced that blogs are potentially the most effective medium for business communication we have. The more we know about the relationship dynamics of blogging, the better we’ll be as communicators.
