Tomorrow’s Bloggers Today

By Brad Shorr | November 20, 2006

Have you considered adding a blog to your company’s Web presence? If not, you’re missing a real opportunity to boost your search engine visibility and establish rich relationships with customers.

Although Technorati now tracks almost 60 million blogs, adaptation remains slow in the corporate world. Things may be changing, however–an article in the November “B to B” Magazine points out that internal blogs have begun to catch on. And why not? The efficiency with which blogs organize, display, and store information greatly exceeds that of e-mail and many project management software packages.

Wider use of external blogs will come in time, as younger employees who grew up in the blogosphere gain influence. To them, blogs will be as commonplace in the working world as staplers and coffee machines.

Farsighted companies will capitalize on tomorrow’s blog preferences by building their blog audience today.
