"Google Docs & Spreadsheets" Saves Time and Sanity
MicroSoft Word is a magnificent product. The recently released Google Docs & Spreadsheets might just be a better one.
Google has been developing all sorts of handy Web-based products to compete against MicroSoft client-based products. I’ve had a chance to work with Google Docs & Spreadsheets, and for me, it’s just what the doctor ordered. Some of the key advantages versus Microsoft Word–
1. Being Web-based, your document is viewable just about anywhere. Document storage on the Web is probably more secure, and unclutters and frees up space on your hard drive .
2. If the document is reviewed and/or edited by more than one person, they can all access a single version of the document in one place. This is BIG. No more confusion about which is the current version of a document.
3. Edits and editing comments can be viewed in real time.
4. Documents can be published quickly as Web pages.
5. The document creator controls who has access to the document for reading and/or editing.
No question about it: Docs & Spreadsheets” makes communication faster, easier and clearer. Plus … it’s FREE.
