Brad, how about beach with no laptop! :-) It is a good niche market. There is a need for people that can understand and write copy that balances the technical information while broadening to a wider market.

Karen, sounds like you need to find a beach with wireless access and bring a laptop. :) I also enjoy "de-teching" copy: very gratifying. Perhaps that would be a good market niche to focus on ... What do you think?

Brad,I love the comparison to Crime and Punishment. It is amazing how in a few short lines, we get the full story and the impact of the emotion. I am also struck by how the story resonates whether or not you are a hockey fan. Businesses face this challenge when creating content too. For example, non-technical people buy technical products. I have had the pleasure of making over technical copy and the elements of storytelling and humanizing the copy are very helpful in business writing. Thanks for granting my request! I would love to see more of these stories from you. Who needs beach reading, I'd much rather come here, read and learn. :-)

Brad,
thank you for sharing this poem / lyrics along with your interpretation. I enjoyed it very much. I've never been into lyrics much, but the way you handle them (it?) makes me wanting to read more.
