Cartoons for Business

Cartoons are an effective way to improve your business–no kidding.

I’m now offering my standard cartoons imprinted on merchandise through Cafepress.

I also do custom cartooning for business applications, including …

1. Promotional materials. Put your name, product, and/or service in the illustration and give it to customers on a mousepad, coaster, calendar, etc. They won’t forget you.

2. Email blasts. People have a hard time passing up a cartoon. Put one in your email blast and click-throughs will increase.

3. Print advertising. Same idea: readers tend to skim magazines and trade journals, especially the ads. Cartoons catch their eye almost without fail.

4. Presentations. Speakers are always looking for ways to perk up the audience and drive home key points. Cartoons can do both. You can give meeting attendees a cartoon-imprinted mousepad (or whatever) as a takeaway so they will remember a key point. People remember images better than words.

5. Web site content. Cartoons can reinforce a key product or service point in a way visitors will remember.

The trick is finding the right approach–you have to be careful with humor in business. Too much of the wrong kind can backfire. I find that once I get to know the character of the company, settling on the proper tone comes naturally.

Project cost for custom cartooning depends on the complexity of the project, but usually costs are lower than the client expects.

If you have some ideas you’d like to kick around, please comment here or send me an email, and we can talk. They say talk is cheap, but I’ll talk for free.
