Ha ha!

Good one Luke. In that case, you must feel very privileged that Padme thought only of you whilst she was dying in childbirth.

Yes, sadly, we do know what happened to those teachable padawan. They were annihilated in that moment the galaxy will never forget - that horrific event known as Order 66, the order for the systematic execution of every Jedi in the galaxy.

It was a truly tragic event, one which should never have happened. I can still remember the feeling of sorrow with which I was overtaken whilst that tear jerking music was playing and they were all executed one by one.

It should never have happened, and deep down in my heart, I knew that day that the world had changed, and that the galaxy would never be the same again.

Anakin was just one of many padawan. His son, Luke, who was named after me, was only a little bit more teachable. Of course, you do know what happened to all the teachable padawan, right?

Luke, It is my experience as well - exchanges that occur in post comments are often more helpful and actionable than the post itself.

Luke,

I don't know you very well, but it appears from the above comments as though you are more teachable as a padawan than what Annakin Skywalker was.

Not being teachable in his youth was one of Anakin Skywalker's critical mistakes, and a contributing factor toward his eventual downfall.

No doubt, with greater teachability, your final destiny will be much different (and better) to that of his.

A padawan is a Jedi knight in training... from the movie series Star Wars. So nerd might be a close equivalent. :)

Luke,
What's a padawan? Sounds like one of Brad's words for nerds. :-)

Brad,

I cannot claim years of practice on my own but I did inherit the benefits of years of experience in a single day. Thank you for investing your time into my personal development.

I was thinking about the fact that if I had just read your advice in a post instead of seeing it in action in multiple comment streams, I probably would have skimmed right over it. When the advice was pointed directly at me and I saw it in practice in several places it really stuck.

It is kind of funny that we have this huge opportunity to broadcast to thousands with a click of a mouse but real communication still works best on a one-to-one basis. Maybe, the more things change, the more they stay the same?

Lillie,

Brad is the master. I am a padawan, but I am getting the hang of it. It is a really great technique, don't you think?
