Bloggers - Can You Help the Poor with Two Cents a Word?
Inspired by Blog Action Day and on behalf of the Joyful Jubilant Learning community, David Zinger created a program where we bloggers can help the poor by donating two cents for every word we write between October 26 and November 1. Click on the badge below for detail -
This is the ultimate democratic charity drive. Whatever you pledge is yours to donate to the charity of your choice.
Sometimes I wonder if words really matter - talk is cheap and all that. But David’s come up with a fantastic way for us to turn our words into action.
Please help us spread the word, and please consider participating if your budget allows.

Brad,
Sounds like a wonderful initiative and I will be delighted to take part.

Hi Andrew, THANK YOU!! You are a very generous person who “walks the talk” of your blog.

Brad,
I’ve just decided to donate 20 Euros to the shop around the corner which lives from donations of books, clothes, cups and saucers and suc things. So they can offer those useful things for small prices. I often donate books, because I know they will be read, but just now I will donate this sum, independent from what I write (I am not writing that regularly yet).

Ulla, That’s great. So many people will benefit from your giving.

Hi Brad - it’s a good idea. But I guess it could become unaffordable if you write a lot. Do ten thousand words and it’s $200 - I think. Someone like Liz Strauss, who blogs many times a day could run up a huge donation bill.

Cath, True enough. This is a very loose program, and bloggers can modify the amount of contribution. I should have mentioned that in the post.
