Be a Word Nerd!

Words are the currency of business, whether written or spoken. That’s why I’m devoting a page of my Web site to fellow “Word Nerds”.

What is a Word Nerd?

  • Someone who enjoys learning new words.
  • Someone who, when confronted by an unfamiliar word while reading, looks up the definition.
  • Someone who may keep a list of favorite words.
  • Someone who is fascinated by the nuances of language, especially the history of words and the shades of difference in meaning between similar words.

Are you a Word Nerd, like Joanna at Confident Writing, or Rocky, the master word lister? If so…

If you’d like to display a Word Nerd badge on your blog, feel free to grab one! (Available in 5 beautiful colors.)

  1. Hi Brad

What a great way to link to me, thanks!

It’s such a good definition - who wouldn’t want to wear the badge with pride?!

  2. Hi, Brad!

I am most definitely a “Word Nerd”! However, I’m not as sure that my sidebar can handle another badge as I am about my “Word-Nerd” status! I’ve already had to remove items from my sidebar because of a slow-loading blog!

I will, however, experiment and see how it works–as long as you’ll understand that, if I’m unable to display the badge on my blog, I’ll nevertheless be proudly displaying it in spirit!

    A proud fellow “Word Nerd,”
